Not very far from the ruins of a medieval Cistercian monastery, on the island of Tautra in central Norway, fourteen Cistercian nuns, with the help and support of countless others, have established themselves and have built a new permanent monastery living according to the Rule of St. Benedict as interpreted by the Cisterican constitutions.

Tautra's Cistercian way emphasises prayer, silence, solitude, community life, manual work and hospitality.  The nuns help to earn their own living by producing herbal soaps and cosmetic creams.

These are premium products made with integrity, using the best raw materials, many of which are organic.
